Coming along.
So I've been working on a webcomic with my friend Jenn, medieval blogger and all around swell chick. The working title for the moment is "Darwin Carmichael is Going to Hell," which may be the actual title since we can't think of anything better. Anyway, I've been doing conceptual sketches, writing story ideas and even drawn a few strips (*gasp*!) so I wanted to share some of my character sketches with y'all.

This is Darwin Carmichael, who as you may have heard is going to hell. Why is he going to hell? I'm not telling you, it's a secret. He likes climbing trees, baking, kittens and complaining. He'd probably look cuter with hair but he can't be bothered.






This is Ella Fitzgerald. No relation. She's a bike messenger, Darwin's best friend, and a bad influence.


This is Patrick. Or "Pat," as he prefers to be called. He's Darwin's landlord and friend. He drinks a lot, and likes football. He was in the Navy during WWII. Also, he's a minotaur.


This is Melete. She's a Greek muse, and Darwin's roommate's girlfriend. More on him in a second. I haven't colored her or the other two characters to follow yet.


Darwin's roommate Matt "the Alien". He's an artist and generally kind of a weird dude who wear obnoxiously hip clothing. He annoys everyone, and looks a little like David Bowie and Andy Warhol's love-child.


Darwin's pet (companion?) manticore Skittles. He's very wise but also very silly, kind of like the Cheshire Cat. He probably won't kill you.

I haven't decided what color to make him yet so suggestions are appreciated. I was going to go with tawny lion colors but I think red is more traditional. I'm also thinking shades of purple would be cool. Ideas?
